Brooke Leary loves to move. Born and raised in the mountains of Colorado, Brooke grew up with the understanding that a healthy lifestyle begins with physical movement. The promise of new adventures in dance and outdoor activities lead her to the University of Oregon where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dance. There Brooke discovered Pilates and found that this practice not only enhanced her dance training, but also embodied her lifestyle. After becoming certified through Polestar Pilates, Brooke moved to the Bay Area to continue her pursuit of Pilates and dance. Since then Brooke has had the opportunity to teach Pilates at a variety of studios, before finding her home at Core Pilates Sausalito. In addition to working with clients, Brooke has dedicated herself to becoming an Certifying Instructor through Pilates Academy International (PAI) in New York, NY. Through PAI, Brooke has taken her practice to a new level and continues to seek greater educational opportunities within the field. Brooke has attended the cadaver workshop at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine and is also certified in CARDIOLATES® and The Center for Women’s Fitness program for Prenatal and Postpartum Pilates.

During her off-time Brooke enjoys spending every moment outside—from rock climbing to surfing, she takes her high energy and enthusiasm into everyday life. Brooke strives to bring this same energy, educated body awareness, and love of physical movement to each client.

Yvonne Castillo

BASI Pilates Certified
Doctorate of Physical Therapy (in progress)
yvonne@corepilates-saus.com

Currently pursuing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at USCF, Yvonne discovered Pilates while completing her undergraduate degree in Integrative Biology at UC Berkeley. As she fell in love with the complexities of the anatomy and kinesiology through her studies, Pilates became the perfect way to bring balance to a hectic student life and take her understanding of the human body and movement to the next level. Upon earning her B.A. in 2007, she worked as a physical therapist aide and continued to pursue the art and practice of Pilates and completed the BASI Comprehensive Teacher Training Program in 2008.

As an instructor she values each client for their individual needs and goals and respectfully honors their abilities. Her education and experience enables her to work with a broad spectrum of clients and her energy and passion for Pilates drives her dedication to the success of each client. With enthusiasm and patience, she inspires and encourages her clients to achieve mind and body health and happiness.

When not practicing Pilates or studying at the library, you can find her outdoors, chasing the sunshine, either hiking or kayaking, or expanding her culinary abilities!

Elizabeth M. Elder Groebe
Instructor
ITT Pilates Comprehensive Trainer Certified
elizabeth@corepilates-saus.com

As a Marin native, Elizabeth is excited to be newly returned to the Bay Area and welcomed to the team at Core Pilates. Throughout her life, Elizabeth has always remained active, whether dancing Ballet in the studios or exploring the beautiful outdoors, running the lakes, biking the trails, or finding her center in yoga. Appreciating the joys of movement and the energy and strength it has afforded her in her life, Elizabeth, even at a very early age, had an interest in working with the body. Specifically, Elizabeth is interested in exploring ways to maximize the quality of the body’s health and function without the need for invasive medicines or surgical procedures. Pursuing a career in Physical Therapy, Elizabeth discovered Pilates, a key rehabilitative and therapeutic mind-body exercise that improves the quality and longevity of the body's functionality. Elizabeth has studied Human Anatomy & Kinesiology at SFSU and completed the Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program at Columbia University, New York. Elizabeth has had the privilege of studying under the direction of Pilates Master instructor, Jean Sullivan, and received her Comprehensive Trainer certification from ITT Pilates at A Body of Work, San Francisco. Elizabeth is a thoughtful teacher who prefers to approach the body as a whole and enjoys directing movement in her clients in such a way that they are able to take home what they learn in the Pilates studio and incorporate it into their daily life.
